WHO WE ARE:
Cross-Country Running at Proctor is a co-ed team sport. It will take you across muddy stream beds, through brightly canopied woods trails, and down quiet country lanes as you train your body and your mind to perform at their best.
The season starts with our five day camp in early September, and ends with the Prep School New England Championships on the second Saturday in November. In addition to our Lakes Region schedule, we also compete in the Capital Area Championship in Belmont.
There is a place for all levels of athletes on our team. We emphasize personal improvement and will help you achieve your running goals. In addition to traditional training methods, we use marker searches, dorm runs, beach workouts, and saunas in our repertoire. The team atmosphere is supportive and fun.

Last year our boys' team surprised everyone and placed second in the Lakes Region Championship race. Two years ago the girls' team won the League Championship race. Our top runner made last year's All New England Team for the second year in a row! The team regularly figures among the top teams of the ten team Lakes Region League and has produced numerous All Lakes Region and All New England runners in the past several years, including the 2003 New England Division III Champion, Mike Trujillo '04, and two time runner-up, Adrian Maldonado '01.
FALL 2012 SEASON OVERVIEW:
This year the XC veterans returned to put in some early miles and work during sports camp. They worked hard and formed the core of the team. They ran their first race on a great course of mixed terrain with a fast finish on a track. The full team came together soon after and ran lots of hills and many miles of steady runs to prepare for their league race schedule.

The boys finished 4th in the Lakes Region Invitational, 5th in the Northern New England Invitational, and had an excellent 10-4 record in head to head competition. At the League Championship, the boys ran many personal best times on our challenging home course and finished in 4th with Connor Saunders making the All-League Team.
The girls finished 2nd in the Lakes Region Invitational, 2nd in the Northern New England Invitational, and had a very impressive 8-2 record in head to head competition. At the League Championship some battled illness and injury but they climbed through the places over the race and finished in 2nd with Emily Fairbank and Emi Morison making the All-League Team.
Outside of league races, one big highlight for us was the CHaD Half Marathon that several team members ran to show support for last year’s captain, Tyler Graf, as he battles leukemia. The race went very well and the challenge gave the runners a tremendous endurance experience that benefitted them as the season went on.
MOST VALUABLE RUNNER – EMILY FAIRBANK & CONNOR SAUNDERS
Our girls’ MVP award goes to Emily Fairbank, who joined the squad this fall. Though new to the sport of running, Emily led our girls’ team in competition. She won meets at Cardigan Mountain School, Brewster Academy, Tilton School, and Holderness School, and placed fifth in the Lakes Region Championship, earning a place on the All-League Team. Throughout the season, Emily demonstrated consistent effort and focus during practice as she pushed herself to get stronger and run faster.
The boys’ MVP award goes to Connor Saunders, one of our captains and a top finisher for the team. Connor had a consistently strong season, placing ninth in the Lakes Region Championship and earning himself a spot on the All-League Team. As captain, Connor led by example by pushing himself in each and every practice and setting personal goals to improve.
