The mission of the Lovejoy Library is to provide the Proctor community with equal access to educational, informational, and recreational resources which support the mission and goals of Proctor Academy and to ensure that students, faculty, and staff become effective users of ideas and information.

What's New?
Collection
Lovejoy Library's collection consists of over 15,000 volumes, 70 periodicals, national and local newspapers, research databases, and other online resources. The Environmental Resource Center is a special collection which supports Proctor Academy's environmental mission.
Brief History
Proctor Academy's first library was located in Maxwell Savage Hall and was destroyed by fire in the late 19th century. Lovejoy Library was founded in 1962 with a gift from Frederick Lovejoy and his family. Originally located in Shirley Hall, the Library was moved by faculty, students and staff to the David and Alice Fowler Learning Center in May of 1994.
