Worth a Thousand Words
10/1/2009
If a picture is worth a thousand words, I'm generating the equivalent of a lot of text. Here's the start of Wednesday's cross-country race at the Blackwater:

It's a kind of a numbers game. If you shoot enough images, some of them are worth looking at. Like this shot of Beau, breaking away for some major yardage in Saturday's 14-12 overtime thriller against Hebron:

Now, for the first time, every photo that appears on this site is available to you at no cost via Proctor's FlickR account. Below, Oliver and Matt transplant lettuce sprouts in a greenhouse fronted by a colorful harvest of gourds:

It is my hope that parents, grandparents and friends of students pictured will appreciate the ability to download, save or print desired photos effortlessly, and at no cost. Here's Ben, in the Cotton Control Booth, managing the lightboard--a service he performs during all assemblies and performances.

All you have to do is go to FlickR, join (free), and enter the words Proctor Academy in the search bar. Join the group, and go wild. Here are some student leaders:

Former Head of School Steve Wilkins once observed that photography at Proctor was "like shooting fish in a barrel." As you can see, he was correct.

Can't you just taste Taylor's double-decker fluffernutter?
