Opportunities for success at Proctor are clear. Teaching styles allow for student interaction, small group process, and a high degree of activity within the classroom. Support is available from classroom teachers in the form of extra help. The Learning Skills Program, founded in 1938, offers tutorial assistance to those in need, and serves as a laboratory in the study of learning styles and optimal teaching styles.
Challenges, too, are clear here, whether in physics or forestry, and grading is objective, tough, and fair. The key to success is student activity and involvement. Our students are expected to be active participants in their education. Positive attitude and the willingness to work are prized, and are rewarded through effort grading systems.
