Days do not get much better than the one that graced Andover, NH on Saturday. As a light breeze brushed the warmth of the sun off people's shoulders and helped to keep the pesky black flies away, Proctor's athletic teams took to the fields and courts for the second to last day of games this spring. While only three teams had home games, all coming out with victories, wins for the traveling Hornets were plentiful as well, as noted by the incessant ringing of the school bell throughout Saturday afternoon and evening. In their last match of the season, Varsity Boys' Lacrosse and their seniors went out with a bang, easily handling an undermanned Vermont Academy team 18-1 behind strong team play from all players. While a similar result, the Varsity Baseball game was a bit more in question coming down the stretch. After back and forth play for seven solid innings, the solid pitching of Spencer Wood, monster homeruns of Harris Williams and Bobby Veasey, and spectacular outfield play of Chris Ruez all helped seal the deal for the Hornets, 15-13, over Holderness School. Boys' Junior Varsity Lacrosse did not have the luxury of playing at home, but instead made the trek to Bethlehem, NH to challenge White Mountain School over the weekend, and returned to campus victorious after notching an 11-6 win. Varsity Boys' and Girls' Tennis both competed in the Lakes Region Championships over the weekend, and while their results were not exactly what coaches and players had hoped for, strong performances by Zach Frumkin, Duncan Sullivan, Charley Stern, Riggs Raymond, and Teddy Suehsdorf were noticed by all in attendance.

Thank you to all the parents, students, and fans who have come out and supported Proctor Athletics over the past year. We hope to see you one last time as the Hornets take to the fields for the last time in 2007-2008 school year on Wednesday!
