 | Costa Rica Program
This year Proctor has initiated a new program in association with the Country Day School in Guanacaste, Costa Rica. The program is designed specifically to facilitate a small number of sophomore students who have clearly demonstrated both academic and social maturity at Proctor. Students who attend the Country Day School have the benefit of being able to take all the classes they would normally take at Proctor while being exposed to one of the most biologically diverse regions on the planet. While all of the classes are taught in English, students take Spanish and have ample opportunities for speaking the language while on excursions and when working in the local community of Brasilito performing community service projects.
The campus of the Country Day School is situated on a beautiful 32-acre parcel of dry forest, located below the coastal range of mountains just a moment's walk from the pacific coast in the northwestern section of the country. Students who travel to and from Costa Rica go through the international airport at Liberia which is a 45-minute drive from the school.
