Spain - Experiential Learning
Founded in 1974, Proctor in Spain is an established immersion program for ten students each term, located in the ancient Roman city of Segovia. Living with a Spanish family, you will exercise elementary Spanish skills mastered at Proctor--how to speak at the dining table, to communicate personal needs, to ask directions, etc.--while soaking up the rich traditions of Castilian culture. Each morning, you join fellow Proctor students for classes taught by our four teachers: Derek, Eva, Maria Jose, and Rosa at our school located right on the Plaza Mayor. Weekly field trips take you to neighboring historic sites, and two longer excursions explore distant provinces of Spain. In addition to earning a whole year's credit for Spanish, you will gain credits for history and literature. Learn language naturally, and enjoy a term abroad!
