The Director of Equity and Belonging provides strategic, institutional, and operational leadership for the school’s Equity and Belonging efforts across people, program, and policy work at Proctor. The Director of Equity and Belonging will partner with school leadership and collaborate with all school constituents to lead Proctor’s efforts to become a more inclusive, culturally competent, and diverse school. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of intersectionality to effectively review and refine policies, provide training, assess campus climate, advise leadership, and foster broad community engagement, in order to embed equity and belonging throughout the fabric of the school. This position is essential to cultivating a community where all members feel valued, heard, and supported through culturally responsive programs, data-driven improvements, and addressing systemic barriers for members of the Proctor community. The Director will serve on the Administrative Council, on the Academic Department Head Team, work closely with school leadership on strategic initiatives, and guide the work of the OEB team that provides direct support to the community.

Proctor Academy seeks a highly collaborative and dedicated learning specialist passionate about helping adolescents grow their academic skills, self-awareness, and ability to self-advocate. The successful applicant will have a background in teaching high school students with ADHD, executive functioning challenges, and various learning differences. In addition, applicants should have expertise in helping students develop effective reading comprehension, written expression, and study skills, as well as the ability to support students in math, preferably through the Precalculus level. Applicants should also possess strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to create a positive, productive learning climate. Experience with reading educational evaluations to develop appropriate accommodation plans and Learning Skills program goals is also essential. Proficiency with Google Workspace and the Learning Management System, Canvas, is a plus.  

 Applicants must also be able to manage workflow to meet deadlines promptly and thoroughly, have a commitment to excellence, and communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Patience, creativity, flexibility, and the ability to successfully address students' diverse, multiple learning needs within a tutorial environment are also required. 

The Learning Skills Specialist position is a full-time role when combined with additional responsibilities at the school such as coaching and/or residential life. An ideal candidate is a dynamic community presence and has a capacity to thrive in a comprehensive boarding school environment where involvement extends beyond the classroom.

World Language Department Head

The World Language Department seeks its next Department Head to steward the World Language department while teaching three sections of Spanish for the 2026-2027 academic year. The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues to implement and continue the development of a strong curriculum based on Acquisition Driven Instruction; attend Department Head meetings; lead all World Language department meetings; collaborate with the Dean of Faculty with hiring, coaching and professional development of World Language faculty; and fulfill other standard clerical duties that are generally associated with teaching and leading an academic department.  Flexibility, energy, creativity, and fluency in Spanish are required. The position includes coaching and other boarding school responsibilities.

2026-2027 Spanish Teacher

Proctor Academy's World Languages Department is currently seeking a dynamic and dedicated full-time Spanish Teacher for the 2026-27 academic year. 

Essential attributes include experience, knowledge and/or willingness to learn about the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) Standards and Proficiency levels, Acquisition-Driven Instruction, Content-Based Instruction, and Universal Design for Learning principles.  Primary responsibilities include teaching three sections of Spanish, participating in the Weekend Team, involvement in Wilderness Orientation as a Support or Instructor, contributing to Project Period, and some combination of duties related to Housing/Evening Duty/Coaching (TBD). 

The ideal candidate should also have a collaborative spirit; the ability and/or willingness to develop content-based, Acquisition-Driven units aligned with ACTFL standards; an interest in and curiosity about the Spanish-speaking world and its cultures; and enthusiasm for ongoing professional development.

2026-27 Math Teacher

Proctor Academy’s Mathematics Department is seeking a full-time mathematics teacher for the 2026-27 academic year.

Essential functions include fulfilling standard clerical duties normally associated with a full-time teaching assignment and attending all school and department meetings.

Other duties associated with this full-time position may include advising, orientation group leader, project period group leader, helping with afternoon programs, evening duties, and coaching two seasons. Flexibility, energy, creativity, and a background in mathematics teaching are required.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in mathematics, 3+ years of classroom experience, and be able to teach all levels of high school mathematics. Experience with Open Up and/or Illustrative Mathematics curriculum materials is a plus.
