The Class of 2024 featured a number of remarkable student capstone projects, including the three highlighted below in short videos. Learn more about Sisi’s ‘24, Brice’s ‘24, and Caroline’s ‘24 Academic Concentrations below.

Sisi ‘24

Sisi’s Capstone Project considered key ideas from recognized contributors in the field of the sociology of art, and applied these to the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum to evaluate how this institution has connected people to art for over 120 years. Her ultimate goal was to gain insights into how art can improve education, communications, and quality of life for individuals.

Brice ‘24

Brice’s ‘24 Capstone Project explored aeronautical engineering as he researched, constructed, and launched a rocket. His project explored fundamental laws of physics, included a public demonstration of those laws, and then a rocket launch of Carr Field for the community. While not all went perfectly in the launch, the process itself was a powerful learning and teaching experience for those who witnessed it.

Caroline ‘24

Caroline’s ‘24 Capstone Project leveraged her experience living abroad to investigate the issues of equity within the US immigration system by addressing the morality of immigration laws in the United States and the possibility of discrimination through these laws. Through conducting interviews with individuals looking to apply for visas in the United States from abroad, her podcast episodes explored obstacles and challenges of the immigration system.
