Three meals a day, every day, every week, year round, Proctor’s Dining Services Team provides our community with delicious meals fueled by creativity and a commitment to Proctor. A fully independent dining team led by Director of Dining Services Barb Major, Proctor’s Dining Services Team prides itself on the quality of food and positive atmosphere created by the group.
Throughout the school year, the team listens to and connects with students and employees, learning favorite dishes, evolving the menu, and both creating and supporting special events in the Brown Dining Commons. The team’s commitment to each other and providing an excellent dining experience to the community especially shines through on Family Weekends, Commencement Weekend, and Alumni Reunion Weekend when thousands of meals are served in a remarkably short timeframe. Additionally, as soon as the school year concludes, Proctor welcomes Gordon Research Conferences for ten weeks of conferences on campus throughout the summer. During this shift in schedule and clientele, the team is able to experiment with new dishes and provide an elevated dining experience to the conferees. Year after year, the work of Barb and her team are recognized by Gordon Research.
Whether it is supporting this week’s Farm to Table Dinner, our annual Indigenous People’s Dinner in the fall, hosting Super Bowl parties and movie nights on the weekends, or annual Lunar New Year Celebrations working alongside students to prepare food, we feel incredibly fortunate to have this team serving our community each and every day during the school year.
