Without fail, the spring athletic season in New Hampshire challenges our patience and agility as games, matches, and races inevitably get canceled due to rain and sometimes even snow. As we wrap the season, however, we recognize the lessons our athletes learned through victory, defeat, and simply spending time in relationship with each other on the playing fields, courts, track, and roads this spring is what they will remember. Congratulations to all of our teams on a great spring season, thank you to our Athletics Department and Facilities crew for their hard work, and thank you to all of the hearty parents and families who filled the sidelines even in the nastiest of weather!
A big congratulations to this spring's award recipients as voted on by coaches and teammates. A complete list is below.
MARVIN AWARD
The Marvin Award is given each season to two students who are new to Proctor for their leadership, sportsmanship, and ability.

MOLLY STONE ‘29 - SOFTBALL
Although Molly is a 9th grader and from the very first practice it was evident she did not simply join our team; she elevated it. From a statistical perspective, she is arguably our strongest all-around player. The numbers are, quite frankly, staggering. This season, Molly led the team in hits, base hits, and RBI. She boasts a .643 batting average and, in 36 plate appearances, she never struck out. Defensively, Molly maintained a .944 fielding percentage (team high), recording the highest number of 'put outs' of any non-pitcher or catcher, and committed only one error all season.
However, her contribution goes far beyond the box score. To watch Molly play is to see the definition of 'chatter'. She embodies the communication essential to this sport—always calling out the next play, always thinking two steps ahead, and always uplifting those around her. What is perhaps most impressive is that she did all of this while quietly working through previous injuries. She never complained; she simply led by example with an infectious enthusiasm that refused to let her teammates’ energy dip. Molly possesses the perfect balance of elite talent and natural leadership. She makes the hard plays look easy and helps everyone around her play better.
OWEN DUTTON '27 - BASEBALL
Owen was new to Proctor Baseball this year and when coaches first asked him what position he played, his answer was "wherever you need me, coach." While he started out at first base, he realized the team had more need in the outfield and he offered to take more fly balls to fill a gap. He not only thrived defensively in right field, but he was one of our top relief pitchers, and finished the season batting .442 with a .500 On Base Percentage while leading the team in RBI with 19. In 50 plate appearances, Owen only struck out twice -- the lowest strikeout rate in any known year for Proctor baseball. Owen is also a great teammate who brings a positive, supportive attitude to practice and is always asking coaches for tips on how to improve. He engages 110% in every drill and offers feedback to his teammates when he sees the opportunity. A fierce competitor, he has never allowed great success or struggle to come in the way of sportsmanship and consistently shows his ability to reflect on the impact his attitude has on his teammates, his opponents, and his own game. Coaches appreciate his consistent efforts to improve his game and to contribute a positive attitude day in and day out.
