Proctor Academy is thrilled to announce a $2,000,000 gift from Richard Wallace ’68 in support of Proctor Academy. Richard’s generosity is a tribute to his Proctor experience—and to the friendships that shaped him, including his lifelong bond with classmate Crocker Bennett ’68. Richard hopes this gift will inspire fellow alumni to “lean in” and help propel Proctor forward during this exciting moment in the school’s history.

A lifelong adventurer, Richard has pursued extraordinary challenges around the world—including skiing to the South Pole (pictured above in his Proctor hat!)—and he credits Proctor with helping him build the confidence to take meaningful risks and discover his strengths. As a student, Richard embraced the full Proctor experience: a three-sport varsity athlete (Football, Hockey, Baseball), active in Proctor Players, Band, and Glee Club, and even a Ski Meister competing in Alpine, Nordic, and Jumping. (And Proctor lore still remembers: he came one out away from pitching a perfect game during his senior year.)

“Proctor provided me with a platform to find my strengths and learn how to take risks—skills I used throughout my career and personal life.” – Richard Wallace ’68

We are deeply grateful to Richard for his belief in Proctor’s mission and for making a transformational investment in future students. Thank you, Richard.
