Through a generous donation, Proctor is joining the ranks of snow farming ski areas in the northeast. Utilizing a system designed by Snow Secure, Proctor Ski Area Manager Steele Henderson, Assistant Manger Mac MacDuffie, and their crew has farmed much of Proctor’s snow base from this season and has blanketed with the Snow Secure system of insulating panels.

From Joshua Tree, the Spring 2026 Mountain Classroom group traveled to the Pacific and headed north along the California coast.

At Proctor, service is not a requirement – it is simply what students do. On Nordic trails, at the Andover Hub, and at AEMS, they are learning to step out of themselves and into the world.

Six students share what life in Segovia has looked like: host families, a day trip to Madrid, Holy Week unfolding around them, and the daily work of communicating in Spanish.

We believe the pursuit of passions is a good thing, but we must never allow our focus on one passion to stand in the way of our discovery of another. At Proctor, our work is not about helping you “find your passion”, instead, we want to help you find your NEXT passion

One of my goals this year has been to get to know Proctor by being present with our students, not just observing, but fully participating alongside them. Serving as a Project Period Leader gave me exactly that opportunity.

The ripple effect of Project Period extends well beyond one week as students return with greater confidence, new skills, and a clearer sense of themselves, and strengthening the greater Proctor community in the process.

This Spring Break seven Proctor students and Proctor faculty member (and former NOLS instructor) Kayden Will traveled to the NOLS Mexico campus for a ten-day sea-kayaking adventure and an inaugural partnership expedition.
