What began around kitchen tables in faculty apartments nearly ninety years ago has evolved into a nationally recognized model where Learning Specialists teach students not just content, but how to learn – cultivating metacognitive awareness, executive functioning skills, and the belief that with the right support and strategies, they can find success in whatever they put their minds to.

"What we don’t spend enough time talking about are the quiet, in-between moments on excursions. The morning sunrise we see carrying our bags to the train station in Córdoba. The camaraderie that comes from hustling to catch the bus. The way we get to look out the window as the world zooms by, and we realize we’re just a small part of it all."

During their passage through the Sargasso Sea toward St. John, Ocean Classroom students entered the Junior Watch Officer phase of their voyage, directing the operation of the SSV Corwith Cramer and even giving orders to professional crew on sail adjustments and helm positions. Between six-hour watches, students processed research samples and found moments of connection in the daily rhythms of life aboard the SSV Corwith Cramer.

As their season came to a close, Cross Country captains Max '26 and Catherine '28 paused to reflect on what they helped build: a program where "cross country is for everybody" and "improvement" aren't just taglines on the team webpage, but the foundation of how teammates operate day in and day out.

The end of the season affords teams an opportunity for players and coaches to recognize individuals for outstanding leadership and contributions to Proctor Athletics.

The Proctor/Holderness rivalry dates back well over a century, evolving over time, but always keeping at their core a mutual respect and healthy competition for both schools.

Faculty members Alan McIntyre, Lynne Bartlett, and Jeffrey Prado sit at the heart of our environmental stewardship efforts, bringing students along for the journey with them each day through their teaching and leadership of our Woods Team activity.

During their passage far offshore in the North Atlantic, across the Gulf Stream and into the Sargasso Sea, Ocean Classroom students' days aboard the Sea Education Association's Corwith Cramer were shaped by the rhythms that emerge after weeks at sea – watch rotations that include time at the helm, lookout vigils beneath the stars, and hours in the lab processing samples.
