We are boldly integrating these complementary approaches at a critical time when students face unprecedented challenges, particularly regarding their complex relationship with technology.

We embrace the imperfection that will inevitably come with Accepted Students Day and recognize that the conversations that need to happen will only occur if we carve out time for them.

What sets Proctor apart is our ability to hold seemingly contradictory values at the core of our educational model. These values tell the story of a school that makes a difference for each student while recognizing that together, we are more.

To commence: to have or make a beginning, to start. At 4:00 pm today, long-awaited admissions decisions hit the inboxes of a remarkable pool of applicants. For this group of future Hornets, it is the commencement of their Proctor journey, and in our view, the start of something great.

The Proctor Ski Area Celebration exemplifies how daily actions and shared traditions sustain our living culture. From our Ski Area Crew's careful stewardship of the slopes to record community attendance at the annual celebration, these individual and shared moments reveal how we build community through acts of showing up and caring deeply.

With Bonus Weekend on the horizon, and February welcoming us upon our return, may we take time each day to put this wisdom into action. May we find ways to simply be, as our imperfect selves in this imperfect world, and do what we can, with what we have, to those who most need.

The winter solstice invites us to pause and notice the rhythms that have shaped human experience for millennia. In these shortest days, we find warmth in gathering together, transforming winter's darkness into moments of connection and light.

When we are in the midst of our daily lives as students, employees, or parents, we are immersed in proximate interactions with others. We are focused on the immediate, and forget that we are part of something pretty remarkable. 

Today, we step away for a well earned break. As we reflect on the beautiful chaos of the last three months, may we remember that it is only through experiencing all of our emotions that we truly reap the benefits of living in community with each other.
