Proctor Gets Big Tie With KUA

Proctor took on KUA during senior night for the Hornets. Four seniors were recognized before the game for their passion, commitment, and dedication to the program. 1 year senior, goalie: Lilly Cannon. 3 year senior, goalie, co-captain: Marina Mirabella. 4 year senior, assistant captain: Hallee Courtemanche. 4-year senior, co-captain: Sophie Weintraub. All four have been incredible for this program, and will be greatly missed for many years to come. Now for the game - Proctor had a rough first period and found KUA dominating a bit, keeping Proctor's scoring opportunities limited. Luckily Marina Mirabella came to play because for the entirety of the game, she stood on her head. Great way to display her skills during her senior night. The teams went into the third period tied 0-0 and with about 8 minutes left in the game, Jules Warmke found the back of the net on a resilient play from a feed by Hallee Courtemanche. The girls were ecstatic but quickly hit the panic button knowing we were up on KUA as the third period winded down. We became a little frantic and had some break-downs in the d-zone that allowed KUA to even the game with a few minutes left to force OT. KUA had a power play with 30 seconds left in OT, but the Hornets battled through to keep them off the board. All the seniors were instrumental in tonight's game. Sophie went from her comfortable and natural position of forward to help out the D for most of the game, providing great consistency and trust back there. Marina Mirabella played unbelievably, stopping chance after chance that could have ended the game. Hallee Courtemanche assisted on the lone goal and battled hard all game. Lilly Cannon was positive and an amazing teammate throughout the game. We will look for more of that as we take on Brewster at home on Wednesday.
