Hornets Wear Down Rams

Family weekend. The flanks of Ragged Mountain burnished but not fully ablaze, and Lakes Region neighbors Tilton in town while our squad hoped to impress family filling the sidelines.

It was all hands on deck and the full team contributed in the first half, but while controlling the play, Proctor couldn’t get a shot past the Tilton netminder. The hornets got great effort from senior Trey Chickering (’22) in the middle of the pitch and our back line controlled the two ram strikers.

Tied at the half, Proctor worked to remain patient and avoid a breakdown in hopes of wearing down the Tilton defenders. It wasn’t until the 75th minute after wasted opportunities but steady efforts from the Proctor team that Henry Krehbiel (’23) took a ball out wide, slid a lefty pass to striker Oz Atwood (’23) who settled the ball and calmly blasted the game winner to finally solve the riddle of the ram keeper.

It was a day to appreciate our full squad and the work of forwards Kael Reynoso (’24) and Thomas Berger (’25) along with midfielders An Nguyen (’23) and Wes Koziol (’22). The hornets can enjoy a full week of rest after a long weekend before facing the wildcats of Kimball Union.
