Chuck's Corner: Rites of Passage
Before final exams ended Thursday morning, and underclass persons scattered for summer break, we honored this year's senior class in the final assembly of the year. The leadership in the Class of 2014 was unprecedented, and Mike called them on stage for an ovation from the community.
After lunch we enjoyed concurrent presentations and displays by seniors completing Senior Projects. These young ladies raised money for David's House, which provides comfortable housing for the families of children battling cancer at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Hospital.
Nathaniel and Zac studied cooperage, crafting traditional hoop and stave barrels.
Speight constructed custom, high-end surf boards.
Seniors enjoyed Thursday afternoon on the beach at Pleasant Lake.
Ethney videotaped seniors describing future plans and offering thanks to parents, family and teachers.
All the while, Dana Newton P'14 prepared a pig and turkey roast in a large smoker. Dinner was served up late afternoon!
