NEPSAC Championships at VA

The format was a 5 km classic individual race in the morning followed by a 3km skate relay (3 person teams) in the afternoon. The day was mild and as you can see, there was lots of bare skin soaking up the sun.  All our skiers did well on a hilly but fun classic course with great wax (thanks, Buz!).  Highlights were Katie Ball taking second place behind a girl from Gould Academy we hadn't seen all season (Katie had a strong race and swept the Lakes Region field).  Nathaniel Perkins earned an impressive fourth place against an expanded field.  Sarah Ferdinand, Jaime Migoya, Matt Bent, Asher Whittemore, Rio Hashimoto, and Daniel Gunther all had great races.  The afternoon relays were fun and the music, mild temps, and great scene made for a wonderful end to our season.  Tomorrow, we have our team dinner to wrap up the whole team's accomplishments and we plan a night ski right after!  The team again thanks the parents for all their support this season, and a special shout out to those who made race day snacks and food possible.
