Gators Tame Hornets

Proctor Academy’s boys’ varsity basketball team traveled to Brimmer and May School for a NEPSAC AA matchup against the Gators. Always a tough venue to play, Brimmer came out on fire from the perimeter in the first half, while the Hornets had their worst shooting night (by far) of the season. Trailing 30-39 at the half, Proctor looked to regroup and increase their defensive intensity in the second half. After an initial lapse that saw Brimmer build an eleven point lead, the Hornets cut the deficit to 62-64 with 7:00 to play in the game. However, an untimely turnover and consecutive baskets by the Gators immediately ballooned the lead back to seven, and the Hornets were never able to recover due to their continued shooting struggles. Bol Akot ’20 came alive in the second half with 23 second half points (32 total), while Terrell Brown ’19 and Mykel Derring ’19 both added 21 points. Proctor is back in action on Saturday at the BABC Classic vs Master’s School.
